Pronunciation:    lan-"yap

Origin :  American French, from American Spanish (la ñapa), chiefly used in Southern Louisiana & Mississippi

Noun, defined as:  1. Something given or obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure. 2. the equivalent of the thirteenth roll in a "baker's dozen", something thrown in unexpectedly. 3 A small gift presented to a valued customer following a purchase.
