Industry Obituary: Phil Lavalley

Phillip Albert Lavalley, 71, of Sanford, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.  Phil’s dad founded the Albert R. Lavalley Lumber Company which Phil and his two sisters operated from 1975 until it was sold in 1999.  Phil was active in NELMA for many years.

Phil had many interests. He served as a town meeting member and on the town warrant committee. He was a member of the Springvale Fish and Game Club and a member of the New England Lumberman's Association. He kept busy restoring his 1955 Packard. Phil was an avid sportsman and passed his love of the outdoors on to his sons. A general aviation pilot, he loved to fly his airplane. He enjoyed meeting new people and they soon became his friends.
