Kim Drew Added to NELMA’s Marketing Service Provider Team
NELMA is pleased to welcome Ms. Kim Drew to our team of marketing services providers, effective January 1. With more than 21 years of experience in public relations, Kim will reach out to the all-important consumer and selected trade media on the Association’s behalf. Working in concert with NELMA’s marketing agency, John Rook’s SOAP Group, Kim’s efforts will extend our promotional opportunities to new outlets to create broader recognition for softwood lumber products manufactured by NELMA’s member mills.
Kim has managed trade and consumer public relations and marketing activities for the wood and building product industries since 1994, which has included media relations, project sponsorships, issues management, event planning and implementation, community relations, industry relations, and trade show support. Prior to opening her own firm in 1996, Kim was public relations representative for the building products division of Georgia-Pacific Corp, where she managed media relations, special events and long-range planning and strategizing for the division.
As an active member of Public Relations Society of America, Kim earned the national designation of Accredited in Public Relations (APR) in 1996. In 2007, Kim was named the Luminary Star Award recipient for the Georgia Chapter PRSA, an award recognizing the outstanding public relations person of the year. She has also guest-lectured to national conferences and university classes on the topics of crisis communications and media relations, and is a frequent editorial contributor to building trade magazines. Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Agnes Scott College and lives in Columbus, Georgia with her family.
We look forward to seeing the results of Kim’s work throughout 2012, beginning with her blitz of the consumer and industry trade media at the upcoming International Builders Show!
