NELMA Safety Awards for year 2011 manufacturing member performances were announced on April 27 at the Association's 79th annual convention in Boston.
All information requested on the annual Injury Frequency Survey submitted by members can be obtained from, and should conform with, annual data mills provide on OSHA form 300. As always, entries for this competition are based on the “honor system”.
Among the 27 Injury Frequency Reports submitted by NELMA member mills for the year 2011 competition, their employees worked a notable 1,769,301 accident-free man hours in combined operations for sawmill and planer mill. Top Honors winners represent entries from the Combined Operations category which includes man hours from both sawmill and planer mill.

Division 1 (1-25,000 man hours): Seacoast Mills - Brentwood, NH
Division 2 ( 25,001-50,000 man hours) Lovell Lumber – Lovell, ME
Division 3 ( 50,001-100,000 man hours) Hancock Lumber – Pittsfield, ME
Division 4 (100,001-150,000 man hours) King Forest Industries – Wentworth, NH
Division 5 (150,001+ man hours) Irving Forest Products – Dixfield, ME
