Pleasant River Lumber to Purchase Moose River Lumber

The owners of Pleasant River Lumber (PRL) have agreed with the Lumbert family and Kruger, Inc. to purchase Moose River Lumber Company (MRL) subject only to final documentation.  The parties hope to finalize the documents and close by the end of February 2015.  The combined companies will employ 275 people in 5 locations throughout Maine and have production of 175 million bf of Eastern SPF and 35 million bf of Eastern White Pine.

The team at PRL is excited to work with the team at MRL to capitalize on the synergies involved in the combination of resources.   MRL and the Lumbert family have been producing lumber in the Jackman area for 40+ years and have established an exceptional reputation throughout the industry and their community.  PRL and the Brochu family are honored to be able to continue the tradition in the Jackman area and appreciate the opportunity to work with the people of MRL to continue to grow and strengthen the company.
