7,400 hands-on builders and contractors swarmed the Rhode Island Convention Center on March 23 & 24 for this year’s edition of the Journal of Light Construction’s Residential Construction Show (JLC Live). This 2-day event continues to be one of the most popular trade shows for the Association to meet and greet this important customer group.
NELMA’s presence at the Show was once again part of the Softwood Lumber Board-sponsored “Wood, Naturally” exhibit, staged front and center at the entrance for maximum visibility that also included the Southern Forest Products Association, and the Western Red Cedar Lumber Association.
In addition to the exhibit, NELMA continues to support the Show’s Building Clinics, a series of “1-hour” demonstrations, that show the tool-belt crowd a variety of proper construction techniques along with best-practice tips to do it right! This year’s workshop for Eastern White Pine featured expert builder Pete Heard, who demonstrated the use of a variety of patterns in a session titled, Outstanding Wood Details: Wainscot and Ceilings.
“This simply is THE busiest event that NELMA participates in all year” Jeff Easterling, NELMA President, reported. “The workshop portion of the Show is a huge draw for many of the attendees, and to be able to sponsor a session greatly extends our educational presence.” NELMA would like to thank the Softwood Lumber Board for providing exhibit funding once again for this event.
