Need a hint?

  • Knots: Generally sound and tight, with sizes increasing with board width (e.g., 2″ red knots on a 4″ board, up to 3-3/4″ red knots on 12″+ boards).
  • Knot Holes: Small, with one up to 1″ allowed on a 12″ board.
  • Checks: Medium length, up to 10″.
  • Pockets & Shake: Small and well-scattered pockets, with light shake.
  • Stain: Medium blue or coffee stain is permissible.
