Every year, Wood Design & Building Magazine holds a competition for the most awe-inspiring and beautiful architectural projects in which wood plays a significant role. The winners get a spread in the magazine’s winter edition as well as a feature in the book Celebrating Excellence in Wood Architecture. Judges look for projects that highlight wood’s “structural, aesthetic and functional qualities” in the hope of inspiring designers to push the boundaries for wood-based construction.
“Wood Design & Building is an award-winning magazine and the only magazine in the market that is exclusively about wood use in architecture and construction. As a result, it is a valuable resource for architects, engineers and custom builders across the globe. Furthermore, Wood Design & Building shares valuable content on the latest industry updates, technical information, inspiring ideas and review of leading architectural designs and projects.”
In addition to choosing winners at ’Honor,’ ‘Merit’ and ‘Citation’ levels, recognition is awarded to two special projects in the areas of technical innovation and public art education. Here are a selection of the winners. To see more, head over to ArchDaily.
