NELMA is pleased to announce this year’s safety awards based upon 2016 performance records submitted by Association members. Awards are given to the top mill performers in three categories; Sawmill Operations, Planer Mill Operations, and Combined Operations. Division levels 1 through 5 are based on total man-hour ranges to recognize safety efforts among small to large mill operations.
Receiving Top Honors for Combined Operations:
- Brojack Lumber, Scott Township, PA – Division 1 (1 to 25,000 man-hours)
- Hammond Lumber, Belgrade, ME – Division 2 (25,001 to 50,000 man-hours)
- Limington Lumber, East Baldwin, ME – Division 3 (50,001 to 100,000 man-hours)
- Pleasant River Pine, Hancock, ME – Division 4 (100,001 to 150,000 man-hours)
- Irving Forest Products, Ashland, ME – Division 5 (150,001+ man-hours)
Receiving Top Honors for Sawmill Operation:

- Limington Lumber, East Baldwin, ME – Division 2 (25,001 to 50,000)
- Irving Forest Products, Ashland, ME – Division 3 (50,001 to 75,000)
- King Forest Industries, Wentworth, NH – Division 4 (75,001 to 100,000)
- Irving Forest Products, Dixfield, ME – Division 5 (100,001+ man-hours)
