NELMA @ Vermont Loggers’ Expo

If you were a logger or portable sawmill owner, Essex Junction, Vermont was the place to be on May 11 & 12 at the 2018 Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Expo.  NELMA joined 175 other exhibitors scattered throughout the Champlain Valley Exposition that featured both indoor and outdoor displays along with live demos.  An estimated 5,000 individuals with direct ties to the forest industry attended this year’s Expo that alternates between Bangor, Maine and Essex Junction, Vermont each year.

NELMA’s purpose at the event is two-fold:  First, to expose the logging industry to the role that NELMA plays in the overall forest to market dynamic, and secondly, to promote the Association’s “Lumber & Timber Grading On-Demand” services that can be provided to small sawmills and timber-frame package manufacturers.

“This is NELMA’s one opportunity each year to showcase itself before the logging industry in the Northeast”, stated Jeff Easterling who staffed the exhibit.  “I always enjoy speaking with this audience to exchange information and learn more about what’s happening in the logging and portable sawmill world.”
