Since we’re heading to Stowe Vermont for the Annual Meeting in September, we wanted to take a look at a local renovation project that leaned heavily on eastern white pine to stay true to the regional and architectural heritage of the time.
The historic Hermitage Inn in Vermont underwent a comprehensive renovation, during which Eastern White Pine was selected for its flooring, contributing to the inn’s warm and inviting atmosphere.
Eastern White Pine, known for its light color and fine grain, was chosen to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Hermitage Inn. Its use in the flooring not only provides a visually pleasing surface but also adds to the overall comfort and ambiance of the space. The wood’s natural characteristics align with the inn’s commitment to maintaining a rustic yet refined environment for guests.
The selection of Eastern White Pine for this project underscores its versatility and suitability for commercial applications, particularly in hospitality settings where both historical accuracy and aesthetic quality are paramount. The Hermitage Inn’s renovation showcases how this material can be effectively utilized to create spaces that are both functional and inviting.
This project serves as an example of how Eastern White Pine continues to be a preferred choice in commercial architecture, offering a blend of traditional charm and contemporary appeal.
